Ms. Graham later appeared on Celebrity Bowling. She probably wished she could blame the mirror for her poor bowling skills.

I think you could make rollers (and/or a robe) fashionable, Donna! :D

One of my favorite "curler looks" is curlers with a scarf over them. Divine did this really well as a young Dawn Davenport. The "trying to hide" curlers. It just makes me laugh. I went out that way about a month ago. Sunglasses and all, leopard scarf.

I love rollers! John Waters also writes where he wonders where it is that they are going later that requires them to wear them out now. I used to love seeing women in curlers when I was a kid. I also loved those flowery, fluttery bathing caps flapped in the wind at the beach. The women who wore them always seemed to smoke. There was a woman on flickr (she's probably still there) who poses in curlers-her hub takes the pics-in public for her "fans."

I'm wearing curlers while I'm typing this.

Sponge ones though. I just woke up.

My mother *adored* Virginia Graham, and I remember as well.

She had one of "those" voices"...she might not have worn curlers in public, but I bet she was a 3-pack a day broad. Uh...lady.

As much as I love Virginia, I cannot burn my shaggy dog robe. Can't.
