When I was a kid, there were two album covers that belonged to my aunt and uncle that I stared at endlessly:
Now, my aunt was a fan of HUGE hair and eyeliner herself and had her own beauty salon! It was very Lipstick Beauty Salon.
My Dad owned this album and I was fascinated by Mary Wells' hair on the back cover, which was a fabulous shade of blonde.

I love British white girl Soul
My father had the "Ode to Billie Joe" album by Billie Gentry. He became interested in C&W culture after he met Minnie Pearl at the Hollywood Canteen during WWII.
isn't it sweet how we're all so alike?
It's true, Norma! Lex, I wondered why some of the black girls at my school didn't have blonde hair. It never occurred to me it was a wig!
I love, love, loved the Captain Fantastic and The Brown Dirt Cowboy album cover. I do not remember why.
The wonderful Dusty Springfield. "Dusty in Memphis" is one of the best albums ever recorded.
Oh, agreed! Carrie - that's a great cover, there's a lot going on and the style is similar to "Toys in the Attic," (I love Aerosmith! Hey, I'm from Boston!) One album cover that gave me the heebie-jeebies was another of my aunt's Moody Blues where an old man is showing a kid (I know, that's already bad enough) some jewel. It scared the hell out of me.
Jesus! LOOK at this - it's enough to scare anyone: http://www.webwriter.f2s.com/moody/lyrics/albumart.htm#egbdf
Now I know where all the acid went that I could never get my hands on! Fucking Dali-wannabe.
