It'd be hard to top the look Donna pulled together in the last post, but these outfits "For Sporting Americans" from the 1969 Penneys Spring & Summer catalog look super-classy when worn with turtleneck dickeys in colors which complement the heraldic pocket crests.

Adult Children of Sears Catalog Shoppers

After not having seen one another for years and years, Donna and I reconnected in a chat room for the traumatized Adult Children of Sears Catalog Shoppers. The pointy-headed ponchos above were the least egregious of the Fashion Crimes committed by our mothers in the name of saving a few ¢: The worst were the Sears jeans, half-polyester "denim" horrors that never faded, and had giant ugly knee patches to prevent tearing besides. Shudder. No one can ever fully recover from that, no matter how many support groups one joins in later life.
