Dear Reader Ryan alerted me to this wonderful volume which I tracked down on Amazon used - for fifteen cents! I finally ordered it today and it's on the way. Naturally I will give you all a full book report. I was disappointed that it only concerns American dowagers (that's a bit of an oxymoron) but still. Imagine a Dowager letting someone get "intimate." The very idea! Happy Saturday.

I just finished (re- re-) reading "The Power of Style," a fab and lushly illustrated book about such icons as Babe Paley, C.Z. Guest, Diana Vreeland, Daisy Fellowes and Elsie de Wolfe--I skipped the chapter on that Nazi whore Coco Chanel.
Peggy Guggenheim was the go-go Dowager! Love her!
Why don't you write the epic coffee table book on all things dowager to end all coffee table books on all things dowager?
