Lesson 6: Stairway to Hell

Watch out for that hem! If you want to run down bumpy old stairs unscathed, this is the wrong outfit to wear.
As we saw in Lesson 5, staircases mean danger in the language of the Gothic Romance Paperback. If our inappropriately attired heroine doesn't tumble down them all by herself, some unseen malefactor will give her a helpful push. To straight-laced Little Miss Nobody trapped by a yawning eternity of respectable domesticity, a late-night trip down the staircase, though perilous, offers escape. She may reach the bottom without any broken bones, and the freedom of a Fallen Woman.
Assignment: Flight is to Stairs as Flee is to ... ?

She doesn't look like a straight-laced little Miss Nobody, what with those boobs up-front and center for the whole castle to see! I bet she was giving Lurch a peep.

They're not bouncing much so I'd guess implants. And that shiny gown of purple "satin" says stripper trying to look classy, but you can't impress dowagers with Frederick's of Hollywood. She's probably running from all the looks of withering scorn at dinner.

That's what my MIL said about me when I first started stealing her Wealthy Scion, when she" thought I couldn't hear." I still wear purple satin whenever we dine just to drive her berserk.

You KNOW that rustling sound must have her reaching for her smelling salts!
