Of Trolls and Men

First off, read the excellent post on Tony Joe White at The Hound Blog. Be sure to listen to and watch "Even Trolls Love Rock'n'Roll." You, like me, will probably become obsessed with this song. If you are more like me than I hope you are, you will burn this song and play it endlessly in your car.

Imagine my surprise when cruising through beautiful downtown Burbank with Mavis today and seeing this:

Naturally, my first thought was, "I wonder if they've heard 'Even Trolls'?" So, I followed them. First, I tried to pull up alongside them, but the only time that you want a red light, you don't get one. At last I succeeded, and rolled down the window. The two gentlemen inside appeared a bit incredulous when I leaned out and said:

"Hey! Have you ever heard "Even Trolls Love Rock'n'Roll" by Tony Joe White? He's the guy who does "Polk Salad Annie."

Driver (excitedly): "Uh, no, I don't believe I have!"

Me: "Here it is - you'll love it!"

Driver and Passenger: "THANKS!"

I handed his open-mouthed passenger the CD and off I went.

I was proud to be the accomplice in this Lethalventure! Those guys are probably still thinking "What the hell..?"

"Two chicks drove up next to us, handed us a song about trolls that rock'n'roll and drove away" - who would believe them?!

That is beyond cool! I love the car. We had a station wagon version of it when I was a kid (so there were unofficial trolls inside that one too).
