Kim Novak and Sammy Davis jr.? (the great negro star). I'd never heard that one. That would surely have been controversial. Was it Judy Holliday whose relationship with a black jazz musician in the early 60's had to be very secret?
REALLY? Oh - it was a big deal. Harry Cohn forced them to break up b/c Novak was his biggest star at the time and Sammy went on to marry someone else right away (not May Britt.)
You have to admit though, Sammy was the best. Way better then Michael Jackson could've ever hoped to be. Even at 6 years old.
When I was a kid I wanted nothing more then to sing with Sammy. My friends were scared of him cause of the glass eye but not me. To me he was the coolest cat alive.
